Nippon Columbia has announced that voice actress Marika Kohno's second solo single "New story" is set to be released on July 14, 2021. She is a member of the three-member voice actress unit Earphones, and made her solo debut with her first single "Yume mitai, demo Yume jyanai" (Looks like a dream, but it's not a dream) in February 2021.
"New strory" will be featured as the OP theme for the forthcoming TV anime adaptation of Yuri Kitayama's isekai fantasy light novel series Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles to premiere in July 2021. This is her first anime theme song work as a solo singer.
She says, "As this is my first opening theme song, I put a lot of energy into singing it, while learning about the series. It is a song that brings a refreshing breeze to the profound story. I'd like to make the anime exciting along with this song, so please look forward to it!"

(2015), Hanabi Tenka in Scorching Ping Pong Girls (2016), Yumina Urnea Belfast in In Another World With My Smartphone (2017), Silence Suzuka in Uma Musume Pretty Derby (2018, 2021), and Scarlett Gosling in No Guns Life (2019), and Miya in By the Grace of the Gods (2021). She is currently playing Nicole Adler in The Saint's Magic Power is Omnipotent, Nene in Mewkle Dreamy Mix!, and Mimi Tachikawa in Digimon Adventure:.
