Today, I'd like to show you a Japanese confectionery (和菓子;wa-gashi) called Ichigo-Daifuku, 苺大福. Ichigo means strawberry.
More than 2 weeks ago, my husband's ex-lady-colleague made this sweets and gave us in return for his Soba-noodle. Strawberry and sweet beans are wrapped with steamed powdered rice. We cannot see them much lately unless you go to wa-gashi store. It has been awhile since I had this sweet, so I really enjoyed the taste.
This sweet goes really well with Japanese ceremonial tea. These things for making tea in the picture below is mine but I don't have thick powdered tea now as it disturbs my sleep. I used to enjoy having a cup a day (maybe) with my late mother when young.
Tea scoops are my husband's handmade, whisk is not; |
I put the link of the picture page showing traditional tea ceremony
called "ocha-seki, お茶席"
